Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based, best practice treatment for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). ABA therapy can help individuals improve certain behaviors including communication and social skills, as well as adaptive learning skills such as personal hygiene, increasing overall independence. This is effective for children with behavioral disorders to function well in different life settings, including school, home and in the community. Studies have also shown that consistent treatment can improve skill acquisition and decrease inappropriate behaviors over time, reducing the need for individualized support.
